RACE FOR EDUCATION KICK-OFF
The Race for Education is an annual jog-a-thon, which involves students “of all ages” walking or jogging around a designated area for one hour. The success of Race for Education is based on students bringing in the names of people who are potential sponsors for the walk-a-thon/jog-a-thon. Ross Elementary participated in the Race for Education in 2012-2013 and 2015-2016 school years and again in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years with excellent results. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to directly benefit your child’s educational experience at our school. We are hoping that this will be our only fundraiser with the help and support of the entire school.
We would like to start this fundraiser by asking for donations of postage to be used for the mailers that we will be sending out. A copy of the postage donation form was sent home with your child during the first week of school. As a way of saying “thank you” to Ross Elementary School families who donate toward our mailing costs…your name will be placed into a drawing for a $25 gift card. We will announce the winning name at our race event!
On Friday, October 19, 2018, Ross Elementary PTO will be conducting its fifth annual “Race for Education.” The purpose will be to raise funds for field trips, assemblies, and classroom resources. Students may walk or jog around a designated area as many times as possible in a one-hour period. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation to the PTO. Students and classes will also have an opportunity to receive a number of prizes baed on their participation in the “Race for Education.”
Your child should have brought home a “Kick-off Packet” of information about our “Race for Education.” Please review the packet carefully. Your participation is essential to the success of the program.
Our PTO’s goal is to raise $15,000. You can enable us to reach this goal by spending a minimal amount of time filling out a label sheet with the names and addresses of potential sponsors. The label sheet and instructions will be included with the “Kick-off Packet” that your child brings home.
Ross Elementary PTO will reach its goal of $15,000, if we receive an average of ten (10) label names per student.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
